Terms of use
These terms cover playing Master Quest, including its online and ranked play, and this website. Master Quest is made by Andrei Kartsev, an individual developer in New Zealand ("I", "me"). By playing, you agree to these terms. The terms of the store you got the game from, such as the Steam Subscriber Agreement, also apply.
Your licence
You may install and play Master Quest for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, sell or redistribute the game, or extract and reuse its art, code or rules text, except where the law allows it.
Playing fair online
When you play online or ranked, you agree not to:
- cheat, use modified game files, or use software that plays for you or gives you an unfair advantage;
- exploit bugs to win, or keep using a bug you know gives an unfair result;
- lose on purpose, trade wins, or use more than one account to raise or lower anyone's rating;
- harass other players, or use names or chat that are abusive, hateful or sexually explicit;
- attack, overload or try to get unauthorised access to the relay server.
If you break these rules, I may reset or remove your ratings, remove you from leaderboards, or block you from online or ranked play. Please report bugs that affect fairness to support@masterquest.fyi.
Online services
Online and ranked play depend on a server I run. I will try to keep it available, but it may sometimes be down for maintenance or faults. I may change online features or, if I give reasonable notice where possible, end them. Offline play does not depend on the server.
Ratings, rankings and leaderboard places have no money value and can't be sold or transferred.
What you send
You are responsible for the names and chat messages you send. You allow me to pass them to the other players in your lobby, which is how online play works.
Ownership
Master Quest, including its name, rules text, art and code, is owned by Andrei Kartsev or the people who licensed it to me. These terms don't give you any ownership of it.
Purchases and refunds
Purchases are handled by the store you buy from, and refunds follow that store's policy.
Liability
The game and its online services are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect losses or for losses caused by the online service being unavailable.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the consumer laws of the country where you live, where those laws can't be excluded.
Changes
If I change these terms, I will update the date at the top. If you keep playing online after a change, the new terms apply.
Law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law. If you live elsewhere, you keep any rights your local consumer law gives you.
